In all aspects of life,
they connect us to
ourselves & each other.

Goodbye summer and hello weather changes in the Northern Hemisphere. Whilst my family and friends are gearing up for their Spring and Summer festivities in Australia, the end of their school years and a Christmas BBQs at the beach, we’re preparing ourselves for a cold one!Snow has already started to fall on the nearby peaks of Zurich Switzerland.

The heaters in our homes and shopping centres tend to do us more harm than good.Constantly taking off our warm winter woollies in order to browse the overheated shop, before putting everything back before stepping into the chilly weather. I remember doing this when visiting my cousin in London last year … it was so frustrating taking your jackets, scarves, gloves off whilst shopping on Kensington High Street, only to have carry it whilst browsing, and put it back on before leaving the store!Do you find this annoying too?

My advice to those who feel their skin drying out during the winter periods:
Stay hydrated by drinking water or herbal teas. The recommended daily intake of water is based on specific age groups:Children from 5-8 years of age should have 5 glasses or 1 litre, 9-12 years of age should have 7 glasses or 1.5 litres, and from 13+/Adults, should drink 8-10 glasses or 2 litres of water.This will help flush out toxins and keep your skin looking fabulously fresh ;
Be Gentle with your skin all the time, irrespective of what you’re doing – cleansing, shaving, moisturising. Avoid using really hot water against your hands or body as it can also dry you out, and
could make sensitive skin blotchy. It’s better to use tepid or lukewarm water, which will prevent breaking the small veins on your face ;
Wear breathable fibres like 100% cotton when staying warm.This will prevent unnecessary irritation, sweating, sticking or itching to your skin and body, which normally happens with synthetics, polyester and other non-natural garments.
Keep a bowl of water in your room at night time to allow that to be evaporated instead of the moisture contained in your skin.Ensure that your heating is also turned down whilst sleeping at night;
Leave the diffuser on with your either blend of Breathe Easy Concentrate or Blissful Minds ;
Apply your choice of Hand Creams and if necessary, wear your cotton gloves to keep them from dehydrating whilst you sleep.

Product selections:
• For Hands, choose from Geranium Hands & Body, Rosey Hemp Hands or for hands that are cracked, use Renew Balm.;
• For Children, apply Natural Baby Moisturising Oil which is gentle enough from their faces to their feet.
• For the Concentrates, choose from Kids Breathe Easy Concentrate and Adults Breathe Easy Concentrate or Blissful Minds.

These Concentrated Serums are made in a Carrier Oil, making them safe to add to the bath or diffuser. They help with Congestion, coughs and headaches.
• Ensure your body and feet are also moisturised after showering to keep the rest of your skin feeling soft.
• Other products to keep your skin hydrated can be found in the Body Eyes Feet Hands & Lips category of the webpage.There is also the Mums Pamper Pack with Tango Twinkle Toes & Geranium Hands & Body.

These Winter tips will help keep your skin feeling wonderful soft all winter long.As stated in the Newsletter, I’m discounting the Hands Products this month so that you can get your Pot of Magic and take care of your hands during winter. Your hands need Tender Loving Care.

‘Hands & Body Butters keeping our hands soft & hydrated’

The Essential Oils contained in our all-natural Hands products include Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis Organic), Cypress (Cupressus Sempervirens), whilst the Rosey Hemp Hands contains Rose (Rosa Centifolia) Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini).
The Benefits of these concentrated essential oils include:

Geranium is non-irritating, non-toxic which is wound-healing with its antiseptic properties.It helps improve circulation whilst assisting and improving the health of your skin;
Sweet Orange is ideal for dry or problem skin types, as it’s a wonderful skin tonic that helps to decongest and removes built up toxins on the skin. Being rich in antioxidants, this promotes natural regeneration of cells, minimising the signs of ageing;
Cypress has antiseptic properties which helps to improve tone and assists in treating varicose veins, spider veins and broken capillaries;
Rose contains antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory compounds which make this a fabulous ingredient especially for dry or ageing skin. It helps refine skin texture and tone whilst managing irritating skin conditions like Dermatitis and Psoriasis;
Palmarosa has skin healing and hydrating properties, which improve the condition of dehydrated skin.

These all-natural ingredients have been carefully selected when creating the products for your skin, as their benefits are so amazing, allowing for an accelerated process for regenerating and hydrating the cells.

What do I see with Touching Hands?

In the newsletter, I added a picture of a group of hands and felt there was such a strong bond and connection with those touching each other, that it was more than just about applying a product to make it feel soft and wonderful.Lately, this has resonated so strongly with me. Perhaps this is because I live so far away from those that I consider is important to me and my family.

What I see when I look at that picture:Love, Friendship, Assistance, Diversity, Inclusion, Help, Connections, Healing, Belief, Encouragement, Compassion, Faith, Hope, Family, Strength, Teamwork, Ability, Willingness, Listening, Guidance, Reassurance, Perseverance, Togetherness, Participation, Unity, Appreciation, Edification, Building, Communication, Trust, Security, Gratitude, Self-lessness, Humility, Sensations, Charitable, Confidence, Safety & Bonds. This list is by no means finished, but it’s huge when looking at only ONE picture.

So what’s the fascination with physical touch, the first sensation, and language we learn.For a mother and her baby, it strengthens the attachment, encouraging security and safety.Depending on the kind of touch that is given, it can create either positive or negative emotions.As our kids get older, touch as a sign of affection is necessary to help reassure and build up their confidence.When we share our lives with another, touch becomes an important aspect of communicating, whether it’s transmitting the feeling of comfort, or more intense sensations which can cause the heart to race from excitement. We want to make sure we’re using touch as a powerful form of communication to keep us grounded and bonded together.

However, in life lately, I have noticed that there is only a handful who are willing to reach out, grab and hang onto your hands, especially when life or situations become tough and stressful.The journey we strive on is often challenging, it can be lonely and isolating.We sometimes forget about those that helped us when we almost lost everything, or had nothing and struggled to get back up onto our feet, making it easier to reach a higher potential.I look back at some of the hardships we faced and remember with fondness those who were there, despite distance and international time zones.

To those who have been an element of strength and compassion for my family and me, we are humbled with gratitude and appreciate your words of encouragement.You helped us believe in a bigger picture that we were unable to see during that crisis, whether it was from exhaustion or fear of the unknown.

What I have also noticed and learned is how being proud, self-centred, lacking gratitude or appearing better than others just encourages narcissist behaviours which will cause rifts and ultimately break off those wonderful and beautiful relationships.The world is big enough for many characteristics, and I’d rather keep my eyes focused on the greater good in others, hoping that they too can assist those around them by lifting, building, strengthening bonds and making the life we live a better one.

Always try to be the best version of yourself and let the world see Your Own Kind of Beautiful.

Loving Your Feet

Loving Your Feet

Why do we often forget
to take care of them?

QR BLOGOCT19

Our feet are often the last thing we think about when we take care of ourselves.Do you forget to take care of your feet until you’re about to go on holidays?Or do you wait until they’re dried out, cracked, smelling and aching? I honestly think that we take our hard-working feet for granted.We stand, walk, hike, dance, run, exercise, and they take our weight from place to place in our shoes which are often too tight, low, high or non-supportive. How do we cope, remain active, play sport or compete when they hurt or ache? At what point do we stop and give them a whole lotta love with pampering and massage?

Day to day, after showering or following our morning routine, we make sure we put on our skincare, fix and style our hair and get dressed for the occasion before rushing out the door. If you’re wearing closed shoes, no-one really needs to see the condition of your feet, unless you’re wearing fancy open shoes or heels.Are you guilty of this? I can tell you I’m guilty of rushing out the door with my laces undone, tying them up in the lift to the garage!!! But let me share my yukky feet story. I hope you can relate to this and I would love for your honest feedback too.

I recently stumbled across those hideous pics of my feet the last time I went for a pedicure in 2014.Don’t get me wrong, I loved going to see the Beautician and spending time with my friend whilst getting pampered. What I didn’t like is how embarrassing my feet’s heels were, cracked and bleeding, hurting like hell and ugly to look at.The beautician exclaimed, ‘OMG Lili, what happened to your feet?’ as she puts on a mask to start grinding the dead skin on them. Urgh how disgusting, no matter what I did, they were always dry. That yukky habit of picking, itching, scratching, picking, pulling, rubbing, and ripping that then caused bleeding and pain had exposed me, and I felt awful showing my feet in public.

While she blasted my dead skin off, I just wanted to be sick and puke, or crawl into a hole from my embarrassment.And of course, she needed extra time to get passed the layers, cutting my heels by accident, which only added to my existing pain. Applying some feet product to my skin, she finished off with some colour nail polish, but my heels were already drying out by the time I arrived home. That’s just crazy, after all that time being pampered, why were my feet still dry?

I tried many products over the years, from cheap Supermarket brands to expensive ones. Some of them were so icky to put on and smelt awful, yet I would apply because my feet needed them. I just didn’t like the results, irrespective of how religiously I treated my feet. Can you relate to that?

When I started making Essentially Lili products in 2015, I decided that feet had to be included in the range. Shea Butter & Cocoa Butter are used to help provide the hydration to the skin.I experimented with blends. I accidentally spilled the liquid version of peppermint aero onto the stove which made our apartment smell so deliciously fragrant for quite some time!!I tried a number of blended versions to achieve the right buttery mix that would just melt onto the skin when it came into contact with my body’s natural temperature for the most effective application. This was the beginning of Peppermint Feet. It’s a definite favourite in Australia as another package heads out to Melbourne amongst other goodies.Not only does it get rid of smelly feet, athlete’s foot or fungal infections, it really hydrates the heels, keeping the skin soft and hydrated.

Did you know that Peppermint Essential Oil is not suggested for Expecting or Nursing Mums? When a newly expecting lady asked me to help with her feet, I created the new blend using Tangerine instead of Peppermint essential oil, making it suitable for expecting and nursing mums. My daughter and I wanted to have a cute name for the new addition to the Feet Range. We came up with Tango Twinkle Toes as we imagined the expectant and nursing mum wanting to dance with her little ones, which is what I did with both my babies!

The last product to be included to the range is Lime Foot Repair . The difference with this one is that it contains Beeswax, which seals the hydration into the skin.You don’t need much to keep the feet soft, but if you have stubborn problems, I suggest adding a little more and wearing socks to keep the product close to the skin whilst you sleep.

This leads me to this next wonderful story. I was contacted by a concerned wife about her husband’s feet. They were aching, causing him agony and discomfort to walk. I suggested using either the Peppermint Feet or Lime Foot Repair depending on his preference of oils, scents and overall goal for his heels. Instead he opted to take them both, using Peppermint Feet in the mornings and Lime Foot Repair in the evenings. A few weeks later, he sent me before and after photos with this remarkable testimonial.

From Andrew G, Zurich:
“With my religiously male application techniques – not every day, often missing a few in between and several false starts, it is still no surprise that my heels look so good. Including the use of a pumice stone and repeated application of Essentially Lili Lime Foot Repair the difference is easy to see. At the start, I had cracked heels with cuts so deep they bled and were so painful I could barely walk. Within 3 weeks my heels were healed and my feet were looking stellar. I used Essentially Lili Lime Foot Repair at night and Peppermint Feet in the morning. Now the pain is gone, my cracks have disappeared and there’s a newfound spring in my step.”

What an amazing result in such a short period of time … and how many men would ever admit to needing this kind of help for their feet? Check out his pictures in the upper gallery – before and after using the products!!

Another testimonial about happy heels from Sevi, Geneva:
My pregnant friend in Greece is very happy with Lime Foot Repair and keeps on using it every day. She has seen a huge improvement in the quality of her skin on the feet and toes. I must admit my daughter and I are huge fans of the Lime Foot Repair as well.
After bathing and applying the Natural Baby Moisturising Oil, she insists on putting Lime Foot Repair on her feet. We both love the texture and scent of this product. I am a forever customer of Essentially Lili, once tried, you can never go back to anything else. Keep up the great products Lili, you are doing an amazing job!”

This testimonial was from lovely Emily, Basel, who just wanted to try something different.
The Tango Twinkle Toes healed my dry scaly heels during my Camino de Santiago walk in Spain. As I wanted to carry only a few items as possible, I also used it for the rest of my body and it worked great!! It isn’t oily or greasy.

Judith from Zurich wrote:
The Tango Twinkle Toes is the only foot balm that has had any lasting positive effect on my feet! Absolutely love it! It was so nice to use a completely natural product whilst pregnant too.

Who wouldn’t love to have results like these? I know that I love reading these kinds of happy testimonials, every time!!

As mentioned above, there are plenty of brands you can get from the stores that may treat your skin. What I try to do with my products is give you long-term results, and make your feet feel great all the time. Depending on how bad the condition of your heels are, you’ll need to gently scrape away the dead skin before having your shower.

You can also make a gentle scrub using sea-salt, or Himalayan Pink Salts, coarse sugar, Olive Oil and some lemon juice .Mix the contents together in a container and gently scrub your legs and feet, before washing it off in the shower.I use this mix (without the lemon) to soften my hands after washing the dishes too. You only have to mix up a small amount in order to keep it for around a week before making a fresh batch.

As stated in the Newsletter, I’m discounting the Feet Range this month so that you can get your Pot of Magic and take care of your feet, all year round. Remember, your feet need just as much love as the rest of you, and if they’re aching, hurting or even smelling, get them sorted, as naturally as you can.

Be one of the many who add their testimonials to the Essentially Lili page, sharing your own story and experience with what helped you. This is what I love the most about what I do. Helping you overcome not only your skin concerns, but finding the confidence to be the best version of yourself to Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful.

Men’s Personal Grooming

Men's Personal Grooming

Men’s Personal Grooming

Men’s Personal Grooming,
a trend for keeping beards &
hydrating faces has always been popular.

QR BLOGJUN18a

Often we assume that only women enjoy looking after & pampering themselves.
Though lately, the trend for Men’s personal grooming, whether it’s for their beards and faces is a lot more popular. When I was young, I used to watch my Dad foam his face with the brush and then shave his face, before slapping on Tabac Cologne. My Dad maintained his curly hair short, kept his fingernails filed, trimmed and clean.It was part of his military training as a young man in Italy. For me, this is what men were supposed to do.

Today, all the additional aspects of Men’s personal grooming is cool and trendy, and shows that a man loves to take care of himself beyond just shaving. Even TV shows like ‘Suits’ shows the character Louis Litt in a Mud Bath as part of his relaxation therapy!!Women love the appearance of a man who is well groomed from hair to feet. Made more popular when the man is fit, healthy and has a matching six-pack like Magic Mike’s team.

When I began making the skincare products, my husband thought mine was a bit too ‘girly’ for him. Going through my list of Essential Oils and their amazing benefits, I developed the Hydrating Face Balm with its masculine scent which reminded both of us of the aftershave called ‘Aramis’. Sandalwood (Amyris Balsamifera) was included in this men’s over 30’s balm, not only for this wonderful aroma, but because of what it does to the mind and skin. When applied to the face in the form of the Balm & Serum, it can encourages the anti-aging process, promoting new skin cells and the rejuvenation process to continue. The Serum and Men’s Face Balm All-Natural products are offered as a Bundle on our webpage – Mens’ Aftershave Care. The Vitamin Rich Mens Face Balm which also contains Sandalwood, assists those men whose skin is irritated with Acne / Rosacea.

As mentioned in the Newsletter, there are some amazing benefits with using Sandalwood , which includes:
• having a calming effect on our well-being and mental health. It can provide a sense of clarity from its therapeutic benefits;
• It can help boost our memory, particularly if you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed out;
• Added to massage oil, Sandalwood can increase your libido and energy levels, working as a natural aphrodisiac;
• It can work as an Astringent, motivating your skin tissues to have minor contractions, which help soothe, calm and tighten the skin;
• The antioxidants found in Sandalwood can assist with reducing damage caused by free radicals which can cause the early aging process.For this reason, Sandalwood was included to the Mens Range.

Gallery: Men’s Personal Grooming: Hydrating Face balm & Aftershave Serum, Sandalwood, Coloured Clays, Salts Scrub and Feet Treatment & Mint Body Butter

Additional to the Men’s Personal Grooming products for Body & Feet are the Peppermint Feet & Mint Body Butter. Made using Peppermint Essential Oil with its cooling effect, they smell so divine you may be tempted to want to eat it.Not only does the balm hydrate and maintaining the skin, but it also keeps Athlete’s foot, fungal infections and odours at bay.The Mint Body butter has assisted with reduction of scarring whilst hydrating the skin,especially after being out in the sunshine.

If your hair thinning out concerns you, there are a few options you could do.
• First, find a natural shampoo and conditioner that contains Biotin, otherwise known as Vitamin B7. This water-soluble vitamin is part of the vitamin B complex, which assists the strengthening process for your hair, nails and skin.It can also be taken internally in a B-complex supplement.
• Second, Evening Primrose Oil which is rich in essential Omega-6 Fatty acids GLA can also be effective with fighting against hair loss.This can either be consumed in capsule form or the Vegetable oil can be massaged directly to the scalp with essential oils.For more information about Evening Primrose Oil for hair growth, see: Favourite Vegetable Oils in our Blog Library;
Black Seed Oil has been used by a close friend of mine to encourage hair growth.It can naturally boost the hair and scalp’s health is different ways.It contains nigellone and has antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it can stop dandruff, dryness as well as improve the hair’s overall health simultaneously.
Rosemary essential oils helps to stimulate hair growth. When applied on the scalp diluted in a Vegetable oil like Evening Primrose & Black Seed Oil, rosemary essential oil helps stimulate hair growth, prevent baldness, slows down the greying process, as well as treating dandruff and dry scalp.

Your Men’s Personal grooming should include night time cleansing using Cypress Cleansing Balm to help boost your skin’s appearance.In a short space of time, your skin will feel lifted and refreshed.To soften the delicate skin around your eyes, you can use an all-natural balm Cool Eyes with Cucumber Oil, which is hydrating and soothing.And on a weekly basis, enjoy a gentle exfoliant and clay mask.Treat your skin whilst chillaxing on the weekend, to help draw out any impurities and remove dead skin cells.Ensure you get the right Coloured Clays for your skin type.

Personal fitness and training, with relaxation, yoga and massage is a fabulous way of taking care of your mind, body and spirit.Perhaps look into Osteopath realignment oran amazing Thai Massage.

In Summary, be the man that isn’t embarrassed to go the extra mile to look your best. Your body, your hair, your skin will all thank you. You will be able to enjoy a youthful appearance well into your mid-life years.Other helpful tips for keeping that gorgeous masculine glow – ensure you don’t use super-hot water on your face, cleanse only at night time, drink plenty of water and keep your face protected from the sun.

We have had some amazing Before & After results using the All-Natural Skincare products, which have been shared on the Reviews & Testimonials’. Get yourself featured on the Happy Customers at the top of our webpage Testimonials.If you wish to be included, please send me a recent picture of yourself without makeup with your testimonial.

We All Want Pampering Fun

We All Want Pampering Fun

Pampering fun – travelling, shopping, spa treatments & massages are all part of loving oneself!

QR BLOGMAY18

Ask any woman what she loves to do and I bet you being pampered is on the top. Whether it’s traveling, going out shopping, buying something that makes her look great, feel wonderful about herself and smells amazing.

Ask any man what he loves to do – get a shave and haircut with head massage, have a deep tissue massage, manicure & pedicure together with a session at the gym. For kids, it’s going on holidays and getting new stuff!!!  Well, at least that’s my kids!!

We all love that massage to relax and release tension in our bodies especially if it’s done by someone who knows how to do it well.  We love having our feet pedicured and maintained for the spring and summer seasons.  If we are not sensitive to the heat, we definitely love sessions in the steam room and having facials. Relaxing spa baths, swimming at the beach, and eating great food are all what I would include in pampering treatments.

This April, we recently ventured for a short Spring break with the family to the Central part of Italy. We flew into Naples, took a bus drive along the windy roads to Sorrento and had an even more crazy coastal drive to Amalfi & back to Positano.  We walked up to the crater of Mt. Vesuvius and then explored the ruins excavated at Pompeii.  The kids swam at Amalfi and Sorrento Beaches, where we explored the many tiny cobbled streets filled with a variety of stores.

Caught the fast trains to Naples and onwards to glorious Rome. Here we spent our last days exploring the Colosseum, Vatican Museum & St Peter’s Basilica.  We had a Melbourne reunion with my friend at Trevi, where we threw 3 Coins in the Fountain, making our wishes.  We did lots of walking, enjoying the sunshine and eating sooo much food, OMG!!  You really need to be on a diet beforehand so that you have space for all the yummy food & gelato that is available in Italy.

On every trip we make, we always bring our pampering products with us. On this trip, it included Mozz Off for mosquitoes in case the kids were bitten by those bugs.  We had sunblock & caps to ensure no-one burnt their faces in the averaging 25 deg heat.  We had our moisturising balms to keep our skin hydrated all day, Lime Foot Repair to keep the feet soft and free from cracking; the Cypress Cleansing Balm to remove any dirt and pollution in the evenings, as well as Green clay for a session of pampering during the trip.  It was also wonderful seeing our kids apply their own Natural Baby Moisturising Oil at the end of each day to keep their skin hydrated!  All of us had something to take care of our skin, as well as drinking plenty of water to keep our bodies hydrated from within.

The Lime Foot Repair has kept my feet the softest they have ever been, considering how bad they were before I started making all-natural skincare products. I have been applying it to where I managed to get blisters from my new hiking shoes, which were rubbing on the tops of my toes. With only 2 applications the signs of the blisters are almost completely gone!

With Mother’s Day approaching on Sunday 13th of May, you can ensure you get your loved ones something to help pamper themselves. You can create your own package of goodies to from the range of Essentially Lili all-natural products.

Please check the ingredients first. You can order your Pot of Magic before the 10th of May to ensure it arrives in time for Mother’s Day.

And remember, for maintaining your glow:
* Rinse your face with warm water only in the mornings. Gently pat it dry before applying your face balm. Do not cleanse in the mornings as you could remove any new cells that were generated whilst you were getting your beauty sleep!
* You should only cleanse gently at night time to remove any dirt and pollution from your skin.
* Some Serums & Balms contain Essential Oils that will make your skin sensitive to the sun. These should only be applied at night time.
* Applying a little of the balms as often as needed helps prevent your skin from drying out and cracking.
* Kids should also keep their skin hydrated, especially after being in the sun.
* In all things, apply common sense – drink water, wear sun hats, sun block, if something doesn’t agree with you, stop eating /drinking it, and find alternatives!

I will be updating the Photo Gallery with our products at these various locations. If you would like to add yours, please send them in.
